Haus of Sages: Fall Heroes

Fall Heroes

Sunny daze to a moon light haze, and into the fall we go…. the Autumnal Equinox has arrived. With its brilliance of colors, crisper days, autumn has always been a favorite of ours.

In Ayurveda, we are entering Vata Season, a time of realigning ourselves and seeking balance. Though the energy will feel continuously alive, understanding that this season, Vata thrives on regularity and routine. This includes getting up and going to bed at about the same time every morning and evening; eating meals on a predictable schedule rather than “grazing” or eating on the run; and planning time each day for exercise, rest, and meditation. If we create a daily balancing routine that nourishes our mind, body, and spirit, we will find ourselves feeling more energized and centered in the months to come.

At the start of these transitions, our rituals are important… So as early as this week, we like to prepare for a simple cleanse/detox.  Starting with more alone time and meditation, which includes evening bath rituals; candles to calm our nerves and essential oils like Eucalyptus to clear our senses and soothe our bodies as we transition into even cooler weather (It can also help with sore throats, asthma, nasal congestion, bronchitis and sinusitis).

Autumn for us is also time a time of play and romance.. I love getting all dolled up to go dancing with my friends, and having sweet romantic dinners with my Sage love, and what better than to cozy up with soft layers, vibrant colors and cozy hats.
